This filter may be used in any of our ionizers. The Biostone incorporates the amazing natural properties of vortex hydraulics in its filter body design which reduce channeling and ensure the optimal performance and longevity of your filter. Its superior cutting edge filtration media is a uniquely treated type of super carbon. This is not your standard old school GAC. This is media designed for ultimate chlorine and chloramines filtration. Also, a special heavy metal reduction media reduces lead, aluminum, copper and other heavy metals. It also provides you extra protection against chlorine and chloramines. The addition of Bioceramic Tourmaline reduces surface tension in the water and aids in the ionization process. Multiple sediment filters between the various stages remove the suspended solids of one micron or greater. The Biostone is manufactured in the US with NSF certified components. If you upgrade your Athena to employ two Biostone filters, you will have 18 stages and the very best filtration system available in an ionizer anywhere. Period. (23 BV)
