Gallons Per Minute Merlin is a breakthrough in reverse osmosis technology, it can handle 720 gallons per day, whereas, other similar size system under $1000 can only do 15 Gallons to 75 gallons per day. At 720 gallons per day, it can out 0.5 gallons per minute to meet all your light commercial and residential use. At 0.5 gallons per minute, it does not need a pressure storage tank. The Merlin is designed to provide an
average 1/2 gpm (1.89 Lpm) continuous
flow rate at NSF/ANSI 58 conditions.
Some applications may require an
intermittent flow rate higher than the
1/2 gpm rate. This can be accomplished
by using a permeate storage tank.

Type Of Storage Tank Pressurized storage tanks create a backpressure on the system that will reduce performance. For this reason we recommend the use of an atmospheric storage tank with a float shutoff for storing permeate water as shown in Figure 13. |
